Graduation Items

The commencement ceremonies for spring will be May 5, 2023 in the Sumter County Civic Center. The times for commencement will be 10:00 A.M. or 3:00 P.M. depending on your program of study.

Regalia, if needed, will be available for sale in the college bookstore beginning March 21, 2023. Beginning in January 2023 you will also be able to purchased regalia online through the bookstore web site or directly from Herff-Jones. It is best if regalia is ordered before Feb. 1, 2023, through the Herff-Jones web site. These orders will be available for pickup at the Grad Fair on March 21, 2023, or mailed to your home if you request. Orders placed through the Herff-Jones web site after Feb. 1, 2023 will be mailed directly to the address requested on the order.

Navy Blue Gowns

The gowns used by Central Carolina Technical College students changed in 2018 from black to navy blue. All students should use the new navy blue gowns available through the Herff-Jones web site or in the college bookstore.

Cords

Gold honor cords will be given to graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the college level.

Red, White, and Blue cords will be given to veterans and active duty military.

White cords will be given to Early College graduates.

The cords listed above will be provided at the College’s expense to students participating in the graduation ceremony.

Stoles

Stoles can enable a student to customize their graduation regalia. A student may choose a stole that represents their major, student organization, culture or an almost unlimited number of other options. You are not required to wear a stole but if you like you may purchase one through the Herff-Jones web site, collegegrad.herffjones.com 

Phi Theta Kappa

If you are a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society you are entitled to wear a gold Phi Theta Kappa tassel. These are earned by participation in PTK events or may be purchased from the advisors. You are also entitled to wear a PTK honors stole. These stoles are available for you to borrow the day of graduation just prior to the ceremony and must be returned immediately after the ceremony.

Nursing

Nursing caps for the pinning ceremony are available for purchase in the college bookstore.

The date for this year's commencement will be May 5, 2023.

Special Notes

Emails will be sent out the week of March 1, 2023 to graduates, asking those who plan to participate to RSVP at the website below. This will allow for us to adequately plan to ensure social distancing. Deadline to RSVP is April 1, 2023. Additional details will follow and will be posted at the link below when available.
